It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has won it all.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Others can counter with the test that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in the nets, it has been a challenging time because I feel like I lacked timing completely," said Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and after that the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to play and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was out Australia needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we are confident we can achieve it."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have delayed plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as leader.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
