I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former twice unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
